A Brand rises
from passion
Lake of bays brewing company
The Lake of Bays Brewing Company is Northern Ontario's newest and hippest craft brewery located in the heart of Muskoka. Since May 2010, they have steadily grown from selling their flagship Pale Ale in a few LCBO locations to over 150 (and counting)! Not surprising...
The journey from those early day 'til now has been incredible. To think that just over a year ago the Lake of Bays Brewing Company was only an idea in owner and president Darren Smith's mind. Today, it has become a true contender in the craft brewery segment in Ontario. It's Darren vision and commitment that brought it all to fruition (along with other notable people of course). Leduke Design is honoured to be the design firm of record for developing the brand you see today. We look forward to a long standing relationship for many more years to come.
Innovative design solutions
Visual Arts Mississauga
Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) is a non-profit organization who's mandate is to enrich community life by fostering an appreciation in the arts through active involvement in a variety of creative experiences.
Leduke Design was commissioned to re-brand their print collateral.
The goal is simple. Consistency. Sounds pretty straightforward. Right? Lucky for us, our client was ready for change. Our job was to design a visual system that can be easily adopted onto various applications. We proposed colourful horizontal bars which can be colourized based on season and theme without compromising the brand. It can be easily used in a variety of formats. When you're trying to capture the true essence of the visual arts (painting, sculpture, photography, etc.), we needed a graphic that was clean but distinct as the backdrop to content. The brochures were very well received by the public and the courses are fully booked!
experience does matter

Not your average Creative Guy
Hello. My name is Rénald Leduc. When you've been around as long as I have, you tend to pick up a few things along the way. I consider myself a bit of a renaissance man. I tend to be more the hands on kinda designer. Well, although my main focus is design, I do on occasion switch hats to become a copywriter, photographer, illustrator, photoshop/pre-press expert, coder, co-ordinator and master juggler. It's all part of being self employed. The following is a brief synopsis of my career thus far...
Some of you may have guessed it, I'm bilingual. Born and raised in the great white north city of Sudbury. Home of the Big Nickel! As soon as I turned 18 years of age, I packed my few belongings, sold my car and made my way to the big city of Toronto to start my career. I was fortunate enough to be accepted at Humber College. Two years later (and many sleepless nights), I graduated with honours. My journey into the world of advertising and graphic design had begun.
My first job was at Sherman Laws Limited. It was 1979 and advertising was still in its glory days. I worked alongside some of the very best artists of the day. In fact many well known designers and photographers had passed through (Heather Cooper comes to mind). I honed my skills in those early years.
My next place of employment was to be my most rewarding time of my professional career. This is where it all started for me. It was as a Senior Designer/Illustrator for the Corporation of the City of Toronto that I blossomed. I was very fortunate to work with some great talent. I am forever indebted to them all.
Well, after four years it was time to move on. I launched Leduc Art + Design initially but soon formed a partnership with a fellow designer to form Fydyshyn Leduc Design Associates. During the next 8 years our work garnered numerous design awards which were featured in the Art Directors Club of Toronto Annual, Studio Magazine Annual and Applied Arts Magazine Annual.
Following the demise of FLDA, I teamed up with marketer extraordinaire Jeffrey Gottheil under the name of J. Gottheil Marketing and Communications Inc. As Senior Art Director an co-Creative Director, we created numerous successful campaigns for companies such as T-Fal Canada, Kitchen Stuff Plus, Cedar Springs Water, and many more.
It was time to go out on my own once again. I re-opened Leduke Design+Communications Inc. in 2002 and never looked back. The design landscape has changed a lot since those early days at Sherman Laws but the fundamentals remain the same. Great design comes down to natural talent and what you do with it.
